This boat was built by Starfire Industries in Salt Lake City, Utah. From the information I was able to find, they manufactured boats from 1979 to 1991. Therefore, this is one of the first boats built by this company. The hull seems to be very well constructed and I have not been able to find out any information why they went out of business. The Ford V-8 engine runs very well and was tested June 21st, 2009 (Fathers Day) on Rockport Resevior, Utah. The boat was able to achieve 42 mph on rough water with 5 people and low performance propeller. I would suspect after the prop is changed with less weight, that the boat is capable of 50 mph or more on calm water. All systems have been fully tested (both trim tabs, tilt, navigation lights, forward, reverse, all gauges including speed sensor, horn, surge brakes, trailer lights, seats, etc.). There is a full multi-piece camper enclosure with rails and held up well during the test run on 6/21 during heavy rain. The canvas is in almost new condition. We are only selling this boat because we have other boats to restore for others to enjoy this year. The next project to go up for sale is a 1967 Sea Ray SRV 220 cuddy when completed.
